The term parish/food pantry can be used to some up forms of food aid provision that are very similar to a food drop-in, soup kitchen or food bank. However, it can also be used to reflect an individual or group in the community where people can go to informally and access food to take away and eat. Traditionally it has been Christian clergy who have played this role, but there are also other people in society who are known in any given community as been people who have a spare stock of food put a side, which can be distributed on an informal basis to people in need. The valuing of this very unseen form of food provision is important to Leeds FAN which is why we have included it on the website.
As you can appreciate and respect it is not appropriate to advertise this form of food provision on this website.
