Street Outreach

Street Outreach

Also known as soup runs, they usually involve groups of people going out onto the streets to feed the homeless community. This can sometimes be done by the group in question setting up a mobile outreach facility in a specific geographical location or by a group engaging in fluid outreach, where they circulate around the city centre, befriending and giving out food as they go.

For more specific information either contact the food provider directly by email, follow their website link if they have one or go back to the homepage and click on Signposting to Food Providers.

Simon on the StreetsSimon on the Streets

Provides compassionate care of to the homeless community in Leeds.

We hold a soup-run each Tuesday 9 – 10:30pm on the outdoor market Leeds city centre. There are sandwiches, soup and tea.

The support we give at the soup-run is purely just chatting, with any signposting/accessing of services that are needed for the people who are there.

If a client who attends the soup-run seems like they fit our case load criteria which is multiple complex unmet needs, then we would work towards taking them on to case load or accessing services that are appropriate.

Anybody is welcome to the soup-run.
